Can I borrow that?

The simple answer is short: “NO”. If you wonder, no, that’s not my rm, I need both of my hands to hold my camera (and I don’t wear a wristwatch anyway).

Guess the phone

This post is actually a challenge: look at the picture carefully, you may eventually see a phone. Done? Well… not that easy, can you guess the brand/model? (no, it isn’t mine and I can’t answer myself)

Tango

This is already a tradition for orasul to get people dancing tango in the subway at the Unirii 1 station, as is a tradition for them to offer chocolate in the same place in the Martisor day every year, so guess what? Today I shoot people doing tango in the subway.

Children in winter

The holidays are near, so a friend invited me at the kindergarden, where his daughter and her classmates had a cute little performance, with the girls dressed as snow flakes and the boys as snow men.

Cosplay contests

The main event at an anime convention is the cosplay contest and now at Nijikon it was the same. Busy with a different photo session (more on that later), I was able to attend only on Sunday, when they had the group contest, where the focus is on interpretation, less on costumes. Still, some of the plays were good.

Nijikon guests

Out local anime conventions are growing, after Otaku gave the tone in spring, it was now the time for Nijikon 2012 to follow, bringing a number of international guests to show their cosplay skills and encourage the local movement.

Naked tattoos (NSFW)

The big hall of the tattoo convention had a stage for artistic performances, concerts and stuff. Stuff including a few strip shows… the first one with Bonita, who is quite known from a number of TV and tabloid apparitions. She started by playing a cop:

Then her colleague Kennya, who moved from nun to naughty:

Unlike the girls, when the time came for a guy show, his name wasn’t advertised:

Finally all of them returned, the guy briefly throwing some fire then leaving the girls alone, they were playing a good and a bad angel:

Metal Crush

Even if titled “party”, Metal Crush was in fact a 3 days metal festival with many bands, around 20 I guess, among which were Akral Necrosis, Infected Rain, Monarcy and Abigail (all pictured below):

Japanese Night, Tea & Coffee Festival

With a busy schedule, I managed to attend only the Japanese night at the Tea & Coffee Festival, which is taking place the whole week. The program started with a clothing demonstration about wearing a yukata:

Then it got more serious, moved to a kimono:

Ather the clothes, it was the time for a tea ceremony:

The event closed with some taiko play:

Kids at the opera

At the Korean concert I saw those kids, watching the opera songs, can’t say how much they enjoyed it.

Korean princess

For the Republic of Korea a somewhat unexpected show happened yesterday at the Romanian Athenaeum in Bucharest: Korean artists singing opera. Voices aside (they were great), from a visual point of view the soprano Kim Hanna was a highlight, she looked and acted like an (European) princess.

The show was completed with another soprano, a baritone, two tenors and a piano player, all singing Italian and French opera and a few Korean songs.

Jazz interactions

Assisting to a jazz concert (the Jack DeJohnette Group, with an opening by Iordache and his band), I understood is less visually appealing compared with, for example, a metal concert (my fave), both as lighting, costumes, accessories, stage play (also, my placement, as a mere spectator in the crowd was limiting), so I decided to channel my attention to interactions on the stage.

Bye Caragiale

If a few month back I caught an Caragiale act near the opening the the all-summer long Caragiale Festival, now near its end I caught another, the same company, Masca, but a different play, “O scrisoare pierdută”.

Ffffff…fireworks!

I like fireworks and it was a while (at least a couple of years) since I saw a good one (being busy whit other things when they happened), so when I learned there will be fireworks in the last night of B-FIT, I couldn’t miss the opportunity.
