A new edition of the anime convention Nijikon is taking place in Bucharest. I was there in its first day and found what it was expected to be found: costumes, a cosplay competition and a lot of goodies: manga, toys and so on. And, of course, a huge lot of anime fans.

The main event at an anime convention is the cosplay contest and now at Nijikon it was the same. Busy with a different photo session (more on that later), I was able to attend only on Sunday, when they had the group contest, where the focus is on interpretation, less on costumes. Still, some of the plays were good.

Out local anime conventions are growing, after Otaku gave the tone in spring, it was now the time for Nijikon 2012 to follow, bringing a number of international guests to show their cosplay skills and encourage the local movement.

The Romanian fans eagerly awaited Nijikon, out biggest anime convention since last year (well, is not that bad, we had the smaller Otaku in the meantime), so when happened they put on their best costumes to show the world their passion. It happened over the last week-end at Palatul Copiilor in Bucharest.

Fan service is often found in anime and manga, so it couldn’t have missed from the Otaku anime festival. Most of the time it is aimed at the male audience and then it can consist of gratuitous panty shots or jiggling breasts. Now, thanks to Calssara, we were blessed with some beautiful panty shots:
The female audience was pleased also, by the apparition of Ellfi’s muscular pectorals:

Some of the costumes from Otaku: special guests, contest participants, general audience. A lot of people was wearing costumes there.

This year the Otaku anime festival had as special guests a few famous international cosplayers, which also served as members of the jury. I think is the first time this happens in a Romanian cosplay event.
Those cosplayers were also examples of quality cosplay, as you can see here, Calssara from Germany and Elffi from Finland:
And also Licorne from Hungary:

Nijikon was a good opportunity to meet old friends, to make new ones, and with so many friends around and costumes ready, we had to take photos around the convention, as those where Yume is cosplaying her favorite J-rocker, Ruki from The Gazette:

Nijikon is the anime fans convention which takes place every October in Romania. I had to go there and compared with last year I managed to post some pics (well, I have plans to follow with more on them). What is the central point of such a convention? The costumes and the cosplay, of course, so I will stop talking and show some pics with costumes – part of them are from the official contest, part are just visitors, all of them having best of fun there.
Of course there were many more of them, but I don’t want to spoil my readers :p
