There was this show in Piata Constituției, like a big commercial for the energy drink, but I figured it can be a good opportunity for some interesting shots, so I visited the place (not only for bikes and acrobatics, but also for some candids, will post later about those).

Indeed, everything is doom and gloom with lost photos and thins like that, so you can’t savour even a peach (be it in literary of figurative sense).
… or that voice in my head saying a peach will make your day brighter is right? I guess that depends on the peach.

Life is not a pony farm and our own stupidity is our worst enemy. The hard drive on my desktop has limited space available so I am using an external drive for storage (I know I am stupid for not having an additional backup, but that’s another story): usually the photos are downloaded from the camera to the desktop, sorted, selected, a few resized and published and after a while I copy them on the external drive and delete from the desktop, to make room for the next batch.
All good until yesterday when trying to make a selection from my old works I discovered almost everything shot in May this year is nowhere to be found. It looks like I made a mistake and deleted before making the copy. I am that stupid at times.
Here are some highlights of the lost files:
Update: That wasn’t all, the curse continued after the yahoo bastards deleted my account and the files were lost for good.

For quite a while I took a lot of candids and was not sure about publishing some of them… well, a chain of recent conversations with people from various countries and genders made me to change my mind about that.
From a lot of angles Bucharest is a shitty city, this hit me heavily when returning from a short vacancy in Berlin, but still there are a few things on it streets making you feel comfortable at home, here are a few such snapshots gathered over the past year:

So you are a photographer… you have some things to to in the center of he city when a heavy rain, a storm, start falling down. Of course you take out your camera, move into a place where you are covered enough so the rain will not damage the camera or cover the lenses and start shooting left and right. Don’t the wet girls look nice?

What’s your favorite type of breakfast, meaty (fried bacon and sausages with tomato and cucumber, pastries and maybe a pineapple slice) or fruity (fat yoghurt, raspberry jam and a fruit assortment)? "Both" is a valid enswer, but I liked the best the combination of jam and yoghurt.

For me (and also for other photographers I know) is hard at time to overcome the shyness and take public (street and not only) photos of people when they can notice you. And I try hard (but is really difficult) to get past of it, as many people (and especially women that are confident in their beauty) will react positively, smiling back at you.

The saying is something like "if it walks like a duck and quacks like a duck, then it is a duck", so as if I don’t know much about flowers, it this looks like a daisy (but is purple) then it should be a purple daisy.

When the pizza is free and tasty and the beer is plenty and not excessively expensive all is good (it would be perfect if the beer was also free, but let’s not be that unreasonable). The fingers get greasy and people faces happy.
