The large hall at Turbohalle (part of the former aircraft engine factory Turbomecanica) hosted over the last week-end the International Tattoo Convention 2012, a lot of ink artist were present and a lot of people admired the tattoos. Some even got inked there.

For the Republic of Korea a somewhat unexpected show happened yesterday at the Romanian Athenaeum in Bucharest: Korean artists singing opera. Voices aside (they were great), from a visual point of view the soprano Kim Hanna was a highlight, she looked and acted like an (European) princess.
The show was completed with another soprano, a baritone, two tenors and a piano player, all singing Italian and French opera and a few Korean songs.

This year the heat is strong and long lasting, all the vegetation has a heavy fight for survival, so it probably was the last opportunity of the year to capture some sunflower pictures.

In the abandoned mansion the rooms were empty still, we found somewhere a mirror. Just what we needed before taking pictures.

The Drugănescu mansion is a monument emblematic for the Brâncovenesc style, but now is empty and abandoned. So an incursion there was not very easy (but not very difficult either).
The building reminded me by a haunted house from classic horror movies and the inscription on some inside door “section chef” made my imagination jump to abandoned psychiatric facilities (I have no idea what it was used for under the communist regime).
But beside the spectacular columns in the cellar, it had an even more spectacular loft, just good for a mini photo-session.

I avoided as much as possible watching the UEFA 2012 tournament, but pretty much against my will I was stuck in front of a TV set for the most part of the final (from the rest, I didn’t see even a total of five minutes). I saw all the goals and the final score, and what can I say, remembering the times when I used to be into football, a 4-0 is humiliating for the Italian team, Spain made them look like little girls… like the girl below would have been a valuable addition of their team.
