Counter-Strike, map level: Moara lui Assan

This was a Counter-Strike themed shooting that happened at the ruins of Moara lui Assan (Assan’s Mill) in Bucharest. The weather was far from the best, with rain and clouds, resuling in very bad light, but we did all we could… and I think the result is not entirely bad.

Rural glamour

When you have it in your blood, you can’t stop, you have to make this type of photography, so even if a Flowers Day at Village Museum didn’t seem like the place for it, I managed to see those girls taking each other photos with a small compact, stepped in and helped with my gear:

To me the costumes looked genuine, the girls cute and natural, the setting perfect, so I got myself a little shooting. Joy!

And SMAEB 2011 it was…

And the bike salon SMAEB 2011 happened this year… despite a massive data loss (still didn’t recover the pictures made in the first day, the memory card is not cooperating, my hopes are smaller and smaller), I still have some pictures to share:

Here comes the rain again

This endless rain is sickening, the lack of sun is ruining all the expected beauty of the spring and photography plans, I don’t know mow much of it I can take any more… fortunately Mino, a brave soul dared to stick it into rain’s face and go for an outdoors photo session

rain

Umbrellas, the last flowers of the spring, that was what we played with before getting to wet:
rain rain

And for the finale, we find an empty place (who’s in the park in a rainy spring evening?), took cover from the rain and played a bit more:

I think she sacrificed a bit on the art’s altar, and didn’t recovered fully from the cold caught in this rain. Get well Mino!

Providing shiny since… June 2008

The Romanian word for shine is luciu, so for shiny things what else can I show better than Luciu sisters’ cleavages? …from a wedding dresses fashion parade offered by Sabres Fashion House.

Fruit bonanza? Delicious!

The girls from Trupa Vogue preparing for a fruit dance (samba). It looks delicious, right? The fruits, of course! But don’t try to eat them, behave!

Out of the comfort zone

My experience with fashion photography is limited (but I do want to learn more in the area) and I also have little experience with shooting men – didn’t read much on this area, did not experiment and such, so when getting this request for doing a male fashion shooting I really felt out of my comfort zone but the challenge was interesting. Will let the viewers be judged, I acknowledge I am a noob in this.

fashion

During the shooting I tried to play a bit, doing some less boring stuff, but the client was focused on the task at hand, so my freedom was limited.

The eye

This was a hard working week-end, shooting effectively hundreds of close-up photos of eyes with contact lenses (7 models, about 50 lenses, 3-4 shots for each). Tiresome but rewarding, commercial but without pay, Fun stuff.

lot of eyes

During the photo session I developed a theory: interested in cosmetic contact lenses seems to be girls with beautiful brown eyes and girls with less-than-beautiful but non-brown eyes. Probably a try to fit a social norm and a corrective action.

I can understand someone is not happy with her eye color, hell, I am not with mine, I can also understand someone’s curiosity about a new eye color, but I can’t understand why someone with beautiful eyes would prefer a complete fakery (duh! those lenses are so unnatural!) only because she does not have the “perfect” color (I think is obvious I find the natural form of some of the eyes above to be really beautiful).
