Toy knight

I was looking for this particular Schleich figure for about 3 months until I unexpectedly stumbled over it when making groceries, no store had it in stock and even a lame online store messed up my my order weeks ago (and there the price was like 50% more). Joy!

The Fighter

The Fighter

Now the following step would be to find the right elven princess and maybe a fierce dragon… Well, another, and probably more important step would be to find a store from where I can buy a real, medieval-looking sword for me (the trick is, it should not be a fake, the feeling is important for the right photography), so if you know such a store with reasonable prices (so probably not in the US, from where shipping would be pricey), please shot.

Angles

This week’s homework assignment for the photography course was to take photos of a subject from 3 different angles. I got the idea to shot a reproduction of the Hamangia Thinker and, as usually, went overboard and selected 6 angles (as the ultimate proof I don’t have self-control).

December 1st: Military Parade

I do not like at all the military parades and this isn’t because I am a huge pacifist (I am not) or because I am ashamed by "our" army being and invasion force in various parts of the world (I am ashamed by that), my big problem is they are a fakery. I served in the army back when the military service used to be compulsory and I saw the real truth: the Romanian army is not something glorious, to be proud of… al those parades are just a show.

But I went anyway (for the first time in my life), trying to catch some photos. And there were a lot of goodies: shiny military uniforms, tanks and cavalry. And girls in military uniforms (probably also fakes, secretaries clothed in uniforms and displayed for the show).

The anniversary of Bucharest, this miserable city we all love to hate, can’t be complete without a walk on Old City’s the streets and some cultural event with local girls.

Hello world!

Don’t get fooled by this post date, it is purposely set in the past: the blog was started in November 2008, but the first batch of photos will outline some photo sessions I had in the past.
