There is a saying: “the train station has seen more sincere kisses than the marriage office”, I didn’t count to know for sure, but I know if you go to the train station, for every departing train you can see at least one kiss.

Just him, her and an umbrella. And the rain, and the bench, and a lot more 🙂

So the rain started, what else was he supposed to do?

After the rain, water drops still stay on the leaves and the sun light make it sparkle like gem stones.

Saturday the weather was not friendly, cloudy and cold, but since there was something to shoot, I left home anyway, heading for the CiÈ™migiu park, with the hope it will at least stay the same. It wasn’t so, around PiaÈ›a Victoriei it started to rain furiously: hailstone, thunders and lightning.
Getting to the end of the line, I had to leave the bus and get refuge in the bus station, the perfect place to enjoy the rain (over half an hour more), bring out the camera and capture some moments:

This endless rain is sickening, the lack of sun is ruining all the expected beauty of the spring and photography plans, I don’t know mow much of it I can take any more… fortunately Mino, a brave soul dared to stick it into rain’s face and go for an outdoors photo session

My main lens is till broken at the repair shop (for over a month already) but this evening when I returned home and the daily rain stopped. I couldn’t resist taking a few photos of those roses in my garden with what I had available (I think the roses looks amazing after a rain), so they are imperfect (not the macros I love to do)… but I also wanted them as a thank you/barter for someone who showed me today a much awaited set of photos.
Yesterday I arrived home near the midnight, I was tired, with some beers in my system and not very optimistic, it was too much for a pretentious shoot: night, flashes, rain, water drops, improper lens so I postponed it until the morning.
The morning was not much better: it was still raining so the light was bad, the flowers in my garden still faded after a couple of torrid weeks, and most important, my preferred (zoom/macro) lens still missing – the lens is broken and I sent it to the repair shop, will miss it probably for a couple of weeks.
The first scenario I tried was the (prime) 50mm lens with a macro extension ring, the smallest ring in my set – I had to go a little closer than wanted:

So you are a photographer… you have some things to to in the center of he city when a heavy rain, a storm, start falling down. Of course you take out your camera, move into a place where you are covered enough so the rain will not damage the camera or cover the lenses and start shooting left and right. Don’t the wet girls look nice?

The weather in Berlin is about the same with what I left in Bucahrest: rainy.

Rain in Bucharest is doom and gloom, the city usually gets near to a collapse:
But at least some look like enjoying it (or at least being affected not that much):

A week ago, returning from the urban offroad shooting, I spend some time in the city shooting the newly installed Christmas city lights. I have not insisted very much, as I planned another, more focused, session.
So this week-end, despite the completely adverse weather (cold rain, cold wind blowing), I decided to get out and try something. I was unsuccessful, you can’t to good photos with water on your lenses.
Maybe next week-end I will have more luck, until then the city administration may even have some time to get the decorations better.
