Sarmale in the pumpkin

This is a less known way to cook sarmale: get a pumpkin and take out the seeds. Fill the interior with uncooked sarmale and whatever else is needed: tomatoes, peppers, smoked bacon, herbs.

sarmale

Put in in the oven and let it cook.

sarmale

Take it out when done.

sarmale

Serve the sarmale together with a bit of cooked pumpkin pulp. Enjoy.

Photo editing tutorials

Lately I wrote on my general blog a couple of photo editing tutorials, both of them are targeted at GIMP, since this is what I use on my day to day work. Of course, the principles are general and can be applied to other similar tools.

The first one is about watermark removal on photos submitted to Wikipedia, this is something perfectly legal, since those pictures are submitter under a Creative Commons Attribution Share Alike license.

The second tutorials refers to creating customs grids to be used on photo editing but also in graphic and layout design.

Naked tattoos (NSFW)

The big hall of the tattoo convention had a stage for artistic performances, concerts and stuff. Stuff including a few strip shows… the first one with Bonita, who is quite known from a number of TV and tabloid apparitions. She started by playing a cop:

Then her colleague Kennya, who moved from nun to naughty:

Unlike the girls, when the time came for a guy show, his name wasn’t advertised:

Finally all of them returned, the guy briefly throwing some fire then leaving the girls alone, they were playing a good and a bad angel:

The joy of pain

The large hall at Turbohalle (part of the former aircraft engine factory Turbomecanica) hosted over the last week-end the International Tattoo Convention 2012, a lot of ink artist were present and a lot of people admired the tattoos. Some even got inked there.

Pumpkin time

Take the pumpkin slices, add plenty of cinnamon on top for good flavor, maybe also some vanilla sugar. Bake it in the oven. Eat as is or with some honey. That’s autumn delight.

Metal Crush

Even if titled “party”, Metal Crush was in fact a 3 days metal festival with many bands, around 20 I guess, among which were Akral Necrosis, Infected Rain, Monarcy and Abigail (all pictured below):

Fuck ecology!

It looks like people organizing a marathon care about sports, health and life, but this pile of plastic bottles (and wasted bottled water) make you think twice.

They don’t care about running

It seems like not everybody cares about the marathon, some, both people and dogs, are completely uninterested.

Runaway bride

Actually she likes to run and got married around the marathon, we are not in a romantic comedy or such.

Marathon

I am not good ar running on long distance, I used to be better at speed on short distance, but lost my training for that too. Well, that is no excuse to miss the Bucharest International Marathon, an awesome photography opportunity. It was the 5th edition, but the first time for me: is a big event, it has good athletes, like this group that was leading the race, or like the guy who followed them or the first girl:

Along with the athletes, many other people participated, in fact there were more races at the same time: the marathon, the half-marathon, the relay-marathon, the disabled people race and the popular cross:

And everybody was “running”, even those you would have expected the less:

Japanese Night, Tea & Coffee Festival

With a busy schedule, I managed to attend only the Japanese night at the Tea & Coffee Festival, which is taking place the whole week. The program started with a clothing demonstration about wearing a yukata:

Then it got more serious, moved to a kimono:

Ather the clothes, it was the time for a tea ceremony:

The event closed with some taiko play:

Kids at the opera

At the Korean concert I saw those kids, watching the opera songs, can’t say how much they enjoyed it.

Korean princess

For the Republic of Korea a somewhat unexpected show happened yesterday at the Romanian Athenaeum in Bucharest: Korean artists singing opera. Voices aside (they were great), from a visual point of view the soprano Kim Hanna was a highlight, she looked and acted like an (European) princess.

The show was completed with another soprano, a baritone, two tenors and a piano player, all singing Italian and French opera and a few Korean songs.
