The tree is burning slowly, not sure if due to heat or a human hand. Fortunately, the Vidra lake is close, so no disaster happened.

When I saw this fishing boat on the Black Sea it reminded me of another fishing boat I encountered in my Indian travel half a year ago: two fishing boats, two fishermen encampments, worlds apart still the same trade.

Since I am sure at this point I already bored all my readers with the photos from Vienna, I think is the time to put an end of the series with an one last pic. Have fun!

Say whatever you want, but I found this fountain in a central park of Vienna to be really funny. I pondered for a while some editing to change the water color, but in the end let it natural.

This is a very traditional well as you can see today if you are lucky in a remote village. I have to witness, I didn’t drop any coin in it and didn’t make any wishes, but would like some photo sessions in this type of scenery.

I needed a pictures with water drops for a little photo contest among a small group of friends, this is what I tool the roses, skin and water drops series, but unfortunately I had some publishing restrictions suddenly appearing on it, with no time for new pics, there is a “plan B” to activate: get an old pic and make the best of it for the contest. So here’s the old pic with today’s editing:

And if curious, the old version from about 3 years ago when I was a newbie photographer with beginner’s gear and a lot less editing experience:

However, I expect some (trolling or not) to prefer the older version (these days I am reading a book about “extreme” editing makeover, so is not impossible I went overboard or was misguided).

Roses are red
Water is wet
We don’t see any thorns, I bet
Me is definitely no poet 😀

Near the city of Durgapur on the Damodar river there is a big barrage to prevent flooding during the rain season. After the barrage, there is a wasteland with some ponds, which supposedly have fish. You can see the barrage wall as the background in the fishermen picture and the wasteland behind their encampment.

Gange is the biggest river in India and it passes trough the city of Kolkata, so if you go to Kolkata, you very likely will have to cross the river. How? On the bridge or on the boat. Photography is forbidden on their bridges, so I have pictures only from the boat (yes, you can shoot the bridge from the boat). Included here: departure, sailing and landing.

I think the shells picking girl is good representation for what is happening in Vama Veche: free, unconventional, direct, sincere.

This year I spent my May Day holiday with a few friends in Vamă, which is pretty much a Romanian tradition. Unfortunately the weather was totally uncooperative, my mood not the best and didn’t have the full gear (is not the place for that). Overall, it was an experience:

This endless rain is sickening, the lack of sun is ruining all the expected beauty of the spring and photography plans, I don’t know mow much of it I can take any more… fortunately Mino, a brave soul dared to stick it into rain’s face and go for an outdoors photo session

I like to catch the summer impact on the city and Piața Unirii in the center of Bucharest is just good for that, with its huge but horrible (communist heritage) fountains. This year I had a bit of help, so the result is a bit more direct and personal:

With this snow all over us and no handy access to some beautiful landscape out of the city, I decided for a week-end walk in the park, trying to capture the moment:

We may be fascinated with fire, but it’s archenemy, the water, is also a fascination for us. Not that magic as the fire, but water is everywhere: waterfalls, clouds, sea waves, rain, fountains, snow, tears, ice…
