A new episode in the protests against the corruption and mafia-like government of Romania. This time an estimated number of 40,000-50,000 people participated only in Bucharest, with many others in the rest of the country.
22 January 2017: 30,000 of citizens from Bucharest (joined by several thousands in other Romanian cities) get in the street to protest when the communist government tries to sneaky pass a mass pardon for corrupt politicians and also de-criminalize acts of corruption.
The fireworks for the New Year in the nearby park are as usual, not very impressive, but they are convenient.
Yesterday it was not a good day to talk about Romanian politics (neither is today), but I couldn’t stop taking this picture at the Christmas market.
