Snowy city

There is one thing a winter must not pass without, that is a snow like in fairy tales. We just had it in Bucharest. Then is another thing which we will hopefully miss: snow and freeze which seems like never stopping.

Winter hotness

It may be winter outside, with snow and freeze, some parts of the city will remain warm or maybe hot.

‘Dat Ass x3

Usually I don’t do such kind of editing in my photos, but here I had to obfuscate some phone numbers, since this post purpose is not to endorse any products or services. Still, the snow was abundant.

Late for Christmas

Is not that for this season I put the cart before the horses with New Year pics first and Christmas last, after a stupid accident my main camera is spending the holidays at the repair shop and I am left shooting with a weaker backup, so my enthusiasm and technical means are limited. Still, I had to show a picture with my tree.

Children in winter

The holidays are near, so a friend invited me at the kindergarden, where his daughter and her classmates had a cute little performance, with the girls dressed as snow flakes and the boys as snow men.

Freeze in the summer hot

Last Friday in the very center of Bucharest, on the fence of the Bucharest Museum (very close to Piața Universității) opened a new photo exhibition I am part of: Freeze in the summer hot (Ger in arșita verii). It will be open for a couple of weeks in the street, for anyone to see, it contains black and white winter photos, the refreshing thing to see in one of the hottest summers I remember:

Inverted vertigo

Normally you get vertigo when you are up and look down, but I think this is not far from it, even if being down and looking up. Wide lens distortion 🙂 (and one of the mast winter images of the season, I hope..)

Caraiman Cross

Cleaning the queue: from the trip in the mountains a couple of weeks ago I managed to put out so far only some food and a sunset, so the time to clean it and get up do date is a bit overdue. Here’s a wintery shoot of the Caraiman Cross, a monument built in the memory of heroes from WW1.

Goodbye winter!

According with the calendar, the winter is gone, today is the first day of the spring, so is the time to say goodbye to the winter. Or good riddance. Or something…

Frozen

I absolutely have no idea how those birds, both swans and ducks, manage to bath in the frozen water, but somehow they do. I prefer to stay with warm water instead 🙂

Bruges

So back in Belgium I didn’t do only pervy stuff, tasty luches and geeky matters, I also had the opportunity to visit the beautiful city ov Bruges, with its old buildings, the canal and the chocolate, everything covered in ice and snow (it was a cold winter):

It is a beautiful day outside: snow still fresh, bright sun and clear air (is cold), so when I had some errands outside (to print a few indian cosplay pics, incidentally), I couldn’t resist taking a few snaps. Until my fingers got almost frozen on the camera and then I was happy to return to the warmth of the office :). Anyway, as you can see, Bucharest is flooded in snow, but we are still alive:

Snow trip in Bucegi

I promised earlier some winter photos, now is the time to deliver, it was a trip in Bucegi mountains from Bușteni to Gura Diham and Poiana Izvoarelor and then back, during blizzard, snow, cold weather, deep clouds and with a bit of sun at the end:

Cattail. Unexpected.

I don’t know about you, but for me, cattail on a frozen mountain creek in the heart of the winter was one of the last expected things to see. But it was a sunny, albeit cold, day, so it looked pretty.

Y U NO SNOW?

Quite desolating to see this beautiful country side landscape in the winter, waiting badly for the snow, still so little snow traces. Supposedly the snow was waited to start about a week after I passed by.
