That string was hung in the tree on the Mărțișor Day and will probably stay there until the nature will get rid of in on its own. Supposedly, it should act as a kind of protective charm for the tree.

Busy with a lot of things, I forgot today is April Fools’ Day, realized it only today at noon, so didn’t have the time to plan anything. But wanting to do something, I used the little one, my Ace in the sleeve.

Our photoclub, Asociația Bucureștiul meu drag (that’s ‘My beloved Bucharest Association’ in English) has a magazine published online. In the last edition, March 2013, I was invited to contribute with an interview and some photos, they can be read starting from page 166 in either the PDF or Flash version. It was a honor to be there with a large piece (I had some pics in previous editions too).

If so far I flirted with event photography, this year I am getting serious in this, showing how it can be done in a professional manner. From the various types of events, from corporate to anniversaries and ceremonies, the wedding are the most important and their season is closing fast, clients should waste no time in booking the services, as soon many photographers will be fully loaded. Preparing for this year’s season, I launched a few weeks ago an event photography website targeting weddings, baptisms, anniversaries, corporate events, spectacles and such. There is also this set of posters, sampling some of my works and capabilities.

At the first thought, one wouldn’t expect a St. Patrick parade in Bucharest, where we probably have more Irish Pubs than Irish people (or maybe this is the reason), but our city had one for the first time. And I don’t think is a bad thing, is a good opportunity to get people out from their houses, walk, listen to music, meet other people, enjoy a show. Yes, as a first edition it has some (many) flaws, but that’s to be expected. Looking forward to the next year.
There was a Romanian riverdance group, a couple of Irish music groups, but there was a serious presence of Romanian traditional dance and music groups, from Săpânța, Vaslui and Vrancea. Which probably enjoy better the local palinka over the Irish beer.
Personally my biggest disappointment was not seeing any green beer, which I understand is an international tradition for the day. Not in Romania… fingers crossed for the following edition.

Just like modern version of Dochia, the old woman selling snowdrops near Piața Unirii in this warm and sunny start of March day is a sign of the coming spring.
Some people enjoy her flowers, sold at a very low price, maybe looking for a second at the wrinkles on her face.
Some others hurry away, carrying on with their busy lives in this sunny Sunday morning.
