For a project I was required nine night pictures from a city so my choice was a series of photos made this year in Prater, Vienna. Stay tuned for more info on the project (in a couple of weeks).

The Gallery from the Gallery

The Gallery from the Gallery (Romanian: Galeria din Galerie) is the name of a photo exhibition a fellow photographer from the community just opened. It is about the Bucharest subway and the pictures are exposed in the Unirii 1 station.

subway

The rest of us used the opportunity, since taking photos in the subway is usually not allowed, to shoot there (you need an approval from the management, otherwise the security will ask you to stop).

Niji, Niji, Niji!

The Romanian fans eagerly awaited Nijikon, out biggest anime convention since last year (well, is not that bad, we had the smaller Otaku in the meantime), so when happened they put on their best costumes to show the world their passion. It happened over the last week-end at Palatul Copiilor in Bucharest.

Bucharest in black and white 2012

Last year I had a picture there, this year one of my pics was selected again for the “Bucharest in black and white” (Bucureștiul în alb și negru) photo exhibition, which should open on October 17 at Cărturești, near Piața Romană. It was taken earlier this year at Femei pe Mătăsari.

Again, the same rule is for the image format, 4:3, which I wonder about, it is the image format for compact cameras: is one of the exhibition heavyweights too lazy to crop his pictures or is an opening for newbies still using compacts? (a newbie may not know how to crop, while you have better expectation from someone with a bigger camera).

BIAS 2012: the flight

There are so many images from the Bucharest International Air Show 2012 which took place last week-end at the Băneasa airport and they are everywhere, that I think everybody is probably bored by now, so my post will be short, concise and NOT focused on colored fog trails.

Wilhelmina Arz at Femei pe Matasari

Even if it was only the second edition, it seems like a tradition became for Femei pe Mătăsari urban festival to be opened by a fashion show by Wilhelmina Arz. It take place in the evening before, on a stage built on the street, where the next day people will roam.

Japanese culture days

This week the Odeon theatre in Bucharest hosts the Japanese culture days, with all kind of activities. I went there for the Fotohaiku photo exhibition, where a few friends have pictures exposed (is a combination of photography and haiku, which I found myself too boring to participate)

Being there, I also attended an Ikebana demonstration held by a Japanese hipster by the name of sensei Nomura who said he do freestyle Ikebana and was not able to tell the audience much about what and why he’s doing there:
