Fedora 10 Release Party

As announced on my main blog, we had yesterday a Fedora release party in Bucharest. Of course the photos I took the are nothing close to art, but it is fun (ALL the editing of my photos is made under Linux).

Half-winter sunset at the lake

Not very happy with the photo session at the Gaudeamus book fair, I tried to "save" the fay: only a few steps away is the Herăstrău Park, the place where I took most of my nature shots.

It was very cold, last days of November with a weather just like snow-less winter so the place looked deserted, a lot of crows, dead leaves, few people and a drowned lake. And the sunset photos are taken from the opposite direction, with the sun on my back: the horizon was covered by trees and buildings and I had to use a reflection.

Notes

What to do when you encounter a corkboard full of post-it notes pinned to it? Take out your camera and get some photos, of course. This has interesting stock photography potential.

By the book

Trying to take some photos at the "Gaudeamus&quot book fair is not an easy task: the place was crowded with no much room for the photographer and the interesting stands were lighted poorly, so you don’t have much success with telephoto lenses either. I am not that happy with the session.

More beer

I dug up this photo from the older Brno FUDCon photo session, since I am not sure we will keep a Fedora Release Party next week in Bucharest.

No room left for a debate, that is not American Budweiser crap, is fine Czech Budweiser beer. Yummmmy….

Up to date

The hard work of digging up the history is done, now the blog is in sync with my photo gallery, all the posts following will be actual.

Garden bush

I don’t know the name of this plant, but the red was beautiful. And is from a garden, not my garden, but a garden.

Fly, fly, little butterfly

The sun light is a bit too strong, but you don’t have much choice when shooting a butterfly, you find it and shot it. Any preparation and it will fill away scared by you.

Bees and flowers

A cloudy day has its benefits for photography, but a sunny day in the autumn has some other benefits, like insects enjoying what’s probably the last beautiful day of the year. Insects? Macros!

Roses and chrysanthemums from my garden

A cloudy day is perfect for nature photographing, you can shoot the flowers without the undesired shadows and strong solar light

Bucharest? Bombed?

A few weeks after the City Days, Bucharest looks like bombed (the Old City is under heavy repairs)
